Who we are

About the ministry

Abba’s Pride was birthed out of Eastside Community Church’s desire, to touch the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children with the hope of Jesus. As the mission expression of ECC we are committed to bringing the Hope of Christ to vulnerable children by coming alongside under-resourced churches, in order to help their congregations develop sustainable and reproducible ministries. In 2012, Abba’s Pride began with Lonnie and Debbie Warren as it’s first missionaries. Now in 2022, their legacy continues with 11 new staff members, 6 ECD Centres, 5 Aftercare Programmes, and 7 Partnering Churches.

The problem

Thousands of children in South Africa live without parents or responsible adult guardians in their homes. They are vulnerable, living in under-resourced communities with informal housing. The children are hungry and lacking basic necessities.

#COMMITMENT

Our Solution

Abba’s Pride is committed to bringing the Hope of Christ to vulnerable children by coming alongside under-resourced churches to help their congregations develop sustainable and reproducible ministries. Abba’s Pride assists in the development of early childhood education, after-school care, child sponsorship, tutoring, feeding & agriculture, counselling, leadership training, and spiritual growth programmes.  Through these supports, our aim is to provide holistic care by giving hope for a bright future and meeting the educational, physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of children and youth in the communities we serve.

Our Vision

Every orphaned and vulnerable child will know the hope of Christ.

Goal

To share the hope of Christ with orphaned and vulnerable children, along with their families, by providing holistic care and support through daily nutrition, education, spiritual and psycho-social support programmes, alongside our partnering churches in alignment with God’s leading.

Mission

To feed the bodies, spirits and minds of vulnerable and orphaned children, by coming alongside churches in under-resourced communities.
