Steph first worked with Abba’s Pride in 2017 and joined full time in 2018 as a psychosocial support specialist. She currently serves as the executive director, leading the organisation and providing counselling and supervision where there is need. God has given Steph a heart for orphaned and vulnerable children and she enjoys passionately leading the Abba’s Pride team to serve these children daily.

In 2019, Steph met Josh while hosting a missions team he traveled with from Maryland, USA. After the trip, Josh decided to answer the call to full time missions with Abba’s Pride. They began dating in 2020, shortly before Josh was scheduled to transition to South Africa. With the borders closing during COVID, Josh’s move was delayed until January 2021. In May 2021, Josh and Steph got married. They currently work and live together in South Africa full time as missionaries of Abba’s Pride. Josh works as the After Care Director of Abba’s Pride. Through this role he trains, disciples, and equips young leaders in running empowering After Care centres for vulnerable children. Over 500 children are impacted through our After Care Programme.

On 3 August 2022, Steph and Josh were blessed with a new addition to their team, a beautiful baby girl, Bailey. The Brown family loves serving together and looks forward to Bailey growing up in the ministry.
