Our deeds are inspired by our devotion to God.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
– Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
The end of each year brings us the time and opportunity to look back and reflect on what we managed to achieve in the previous year. It also allows us to cement our faith and commitment for the coming year.
It’s always a humbling experience as we see, in one view, our collective efforts, and as we measure the impact on some of the most impoverished and disadvantaged among us.
We see the difference a single nourishing meal can make to a near starving child.
We see young eyes lighting up eagerly when they grasp a mathematical concept or piece a word together – and then a complete sentence!
We see the energy and enthusiasm of our teachers and pastors who give so much of their time and themselves to their communities.
We see a once barren piece of land yield vegetables and fruits to feed families.
We see young leaders, who may once have been led astray, step into their potential and model themselves on Christ, inspiring a whole new generation of youth to choose the path of compassion, of righteousness and of commitment to others.
It is always a humbling time for us.
But it is also a time of gratitude where we give thanks to God, to our communities and leaders, and to our donors, who make it possible for us to turn word into deed, despair into hope, and transform the lives of so many.
Here’s what we got up to in 2024:
Abba’s Pride ECD 2024
We understand the importance of building a strong foundation for young children. So, we partnered with 5 centres, trained and mentored 20 teachers, and reached more than 250 children.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.”
– Proverbs 22:6
Ke Montle 2024 ECD appreciation
We feel it’s important to celebrate how good deeds reflect God’s glory and inspire others. So, we appreciated 18 teachers, and celebrated 6 teachers completing their Level 4 and 5 ECD certificate.
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
– Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

Abba’s Pride After Care 2024
We believe in the long-term value of nurturing and providing guidance to children through these centres. So, we partnered with 8 centres, trained and mentored over 60 youth leaders, and reached more than 600 children.
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
– Matthew 19:14
Abba’s Pride Tlotso Youth Development 2024
God reminds us of the potential and calling of youth to lead and inspire. So, we hosted our 3rd annual retreat, poured into 50 youth and 10 adults, and taught them about the importance of community.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
– 1 Timothy 4:12
Abba’s Pride Career Day 2024
We want to encourage youth to seek God’s guidance in their career paths and aspirations. So, we hosted our first ever Career Day, where 70 youth attended and over 20 professionals shared their career highlights.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
– Proverbs 16:3
Abba’s Pride Bala Reading Club 2024 / Abba’s Pride Maths Camp 2024 / Abba’s Pride Lightbearers Holiday Club & US Teams 2024
We believe in the power of learning, understanding, and growing through knowledge.
So, 6 US teams volunteered for our clubs and camps, over 500 children and their leaders were reached, and with the teams’ help, we organized 2 holiday clubs.
The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”
– Psalm 119:130

Abba’s Pride Abba’s Child 2023 / 2024
We realized that our gardening and feeding programmes bring nourishment, renewal, and hope to so many. So, this year, 45 children were supported, over 200 individuals were impacted, we introduced in a new community, and we hosted Guardian
agriculture training.
They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.”
– Jeremiah 31:12
Abba’s Pride Feeding & Farm Agriculture 2024
We wanted our communities to work towards self-sufficiency, and to witness God’s provision and the fruits of their own faithful labour. So, we provided over 10 000 seedlings for planting, fed over 900 children, and helped feed 9 communities.
The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to.”
– Jeremiah 31:12
Abba’s Pride Re Baetapele Pastor’s Retreat 2024
Our pastors give so much and expect so little, so we wanted to acknowledge their devotion and give them space to reflect on their achievements and to recognise their impact. And we wanted to remind them of the importance of rest and renewal for those who shepherd God’s people.
He said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
– Mark 6:31

An end and a beginning
All the work we do in the year serves to inspire us to do even more in the following year, to continue to spread his Word, and to match our words with deeds that make a difference.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
– Colossians 3:17 (NIV)
